The Guitarmen

The music of "The Guitarmen" is about as good as you would ever see and hear featuring Louie Shelton, Damian Black, Kirk Lorange, Dale Robbins and Greg Lyon and a host of other talented singers and musicians.

Over the past several decades you would have heard Louie Shelton's signature guitar riffs and solos on more hit records than any other session guitarist in history. Whilst there are too many to mention, some of his classics include: Boz Scaggs’ “Low Down” and Lionel Richie's “Hello” which will be performed at the festival. Some of the other artists Louie has recorded with include John Lennon, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross, The Carpenters, Joe Cocker, Kenny Rogers, The Mamas & Papas, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Seals and Crofts, The Jackson 5, The Monkeys and many others.

Damian Black has performed extensively in Australia and overseas in the United Kingdom, Denmark, Iceland, Germany, Austria, Bali and Vanuatu and has composed more than 600 original songs. In 2008 he completed an EP at New York’s famous Electric Lady Studios and has recently completed recording an album with Louie Shelton and is the consumate live performer.

Canadian slide guitarist Kirk Lorange is well known not only for writing the book on how to play slide but also for classic tracks such as Richard Clapton’s “Deep Water”. Greg Lyon is quite simply the most supurb bass player having spent so many years performing with some of the best known artists in Australia and abroad such as Glenn Shorrock and Renee Geyer. Dale Robbins is an extremely versatile guitarist who has played on country number one hits and who will open the perfomance with an amazing rendition of Carlos Santana's classic "Europa".
